Day 5 of the 12 Days for Good – HEALTH

The word health can encompass so much, but what came to me today, was the connection between laughter and your immune system.  Studies show that you can actually increase the function of your immune system and extend your life by laughing!  It doesn’t cost you anything, so isn’t worth letting some of your worry go and replacing it with laughter?

I know probably easier said than done.  Although this season is meant to be joyous and reflect on the blessings you have, it can often be a very low time for many people.

Today’s theme is HEALTH for the 12 days for Good, so I want you to think about what makes you smile, enjoy all the moments around you and help to uplift others.  Following this theme and what makes me smile are three gifts I have received from my children:

1.  The Gift of Giving from the heart without restrictions or boundaries

2.  The Gift of being true to yourself and standing up for what you believe and,

3.  The Gift of pure joy and laughter

I often say my kids are my teachers providing insight into life with such innocence and purity.

I came across this video of a 5 year old at her Christmas concert, and it absolutely made me smile…..

Adding to the theme of HEALTH, I wanted to leave you with an awesome recipe that I tweaked a bit from a dear friend of mine.  There are no nuts, so kids can enjoy an energizing boost at school with these treats!!


Use 1 cup of the granola recipe from day1 (remember to swap out the nuts for hemp hearts if you are wanting these as school snacks)

1/2 cup raw coconut

1/2 cup sunflower seed butter

1/3 cup raw honey

1/2 cup MILA or chia seeds

1/4 cup sesame seeds

1 tsp vanilla

100% raw cacao powder

coconut oil

Directions:  Mix all ingredients together except the cacao powder and coconut oil and put in the fridge for 3o minutes.  If the mixture does not hold, add in a couple tablespoons of coconut oil and mix in.  Then roll the mixture into bite size balls and roll in the cacao powder.  Store in an airtight container in the fridge,.
