Are you lacking energy?  Feeling tired all the time?  Having trouble losing weight?  Crippled with digestive issues?  Then, STOP!  Take a look at the food you are eating.  I mean really look at it.  Does it look vibrant?  Is it full of colour?  Are your foods varied in texture?  Do they look full of life?  This is what you want to be eating.

Let me ask you other than filling your belly, what is the burger and fries going to feed your body with?  Vitamins?  nope.  Minerals?  nope.  Essential fatty acids?  nope.  Phytonutrients? nope.  Fibre? nope.  When you eat a meal and it looks drab and dreary, that is exactly how your body is going to feel and perform after trying to digest, assimilate and absorb the “food”.  Now, eating these foods every once in a while is OK provided that you are feeding your body with nutrient dense foods every day.

Dr. Bernard Jensen was a pioneer in treating the health of our bodies.  In one of his books he states, “We cannot take our body, so wonderfully put together, and expect it to function properly if we violate all the natural laws that are necessary for it to be well.  The first natural law is to feed the body natural food.  We are meant to have fibre.  We are meant to have natural enzymes.  We are meant to have food in its raw state.”  I think a lot of us believe we can give our bodies anything, and our steel stomachs will get to work.  Not so.

I get it…life is extremely busy and chaotic at times!  However, when we suffer from digestive issues, headaches, chronic colds and flus, allergies, weight gain, moodiness, inability to sleep and the list goes on, there is a problem.  Who wants to be sick?  I don’t!  Why not take a little extra time to prepare the food your body needs….it will actually save you time and money in the long run.

So, back to the pictures at the top.  Maybe you find the burger and fries tastier at this time, but why can’t you learn to love your veggies knowing all the goodness they provide?

We are at the beginning of 2014, a great place to start new things!
