Would you know what you were looking for if you ran right into it?
Sometimes we get into routines and habits that don’t mean anything and we have lost touch with what is truly important to us.
Ever feel like life is a moving walkway or roundabout and you are not quite sure how to get off or exit?
Fear of not knowing how to exit leaves you continuously moving on a never ending path. You pass by fun, excitement, thrills, adventures but you justify it and make it OK because there will be more adventures ahead that you can always find, right?
The problem with this thinking is that the gut feeling you have when you first think about exiting the walkway or roundabout slowly diminishes every time you make the choice NOT to join in some event, experience or journey. Soon, the walkway or roundabout becomes your life. You start living each day, just to make it through the day. Life shuffles you along and each day is good, fine or OK.
Is this how you envisioned your life?
What if you tried changing up the pace? Slow down, speed up, but don’t stay the same. When we change the pace, it is absolutely fascinating how the view completely changes and we see things we never did before. Those things were always there, we just never took the time to look, feel or hear.
Ever thought of creating a bucket list? A list like this lets you dream, become more, conquer fear and live life! Each experience we have shapes us, refines us, and breathes new life into us.
I am to the point now where I look for my fears because I know each time I look fear in the face, I learn, become stronger, believe in myself more and increase my confidence, which chips away a little more at the carving or masterpiece which is my life.
We all have a masterpiece. You were born with everything to create it.
So, where are you walking to? The best way to exit is one step at a time. The more you practice, the better you become at seeing what you are looking for and are capable of achieving.
Life is a journey, not a destination. Cliché, I know, but it is absolutely true.
This quote came across my path from a one of the most genuine and authentic people I have met in a long time….Cathy Benjamin, founder of Alter Ego Yoga:
“And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, “No. This is what’s important.”– Iain Thomas
Your journey starts with YOU.
Cheers until next week!
